I was born in Glasgow in the early 70′s and raised in the suburbs of Manchester where I have lived for over 30 years.

I spent many years expressing my artistic talents through DJing be it in clubs or supporting touring bands such as The Charlatans and TopLoader. Eventually the pitter patter of tiny feet forced me to resign from my hedonistic career with the 1s and 2s in 2003, and resume photography with an unbridled passion to fill the creative void. After many years shooting with assorted film cameras, I embraced digital photography in 2005. It took me some years to come to the conclusion that travel and landscape photography were my forte and where my passion lay. I do also shoot some self-styled fashion-esque portraiture, and some product work to fill the gaps between trips.

“There is so much beauty in the world around us, and being on the edge of Manchester, the stunning national parks of the Peak District and the Lake District are only a short distance away, comparatively. I’m not sure why I feel so drawn to the hills and lakes, but there is something serene and calming about hiking up a hillside in the thick of night and freezing cold to wait for the first glimpses of purple cloud on the horizon. I’ve also always had a desire to travel, a Wanderlust if you like, and did so extensively in my younger days, reaching Moscow & Leningrad, and Hong Kong and China in the 80′s, but without a particularly well trained eye.There are so many varied colourful cultures and such a kaleidoscope of traditions across the globe, yet we’re all from the same human race, and I find it utterly fascinating. The only thing better than experiencing this ethnic and sociological diversity first hand is being able to capture it, and then reproduce it to a keen open-minded audience.”
